L'atelier d'Anih

Anih's Studio

Anih paints in her Parisian apartment. A Haussmann-era drawing room with a herringbone parquet floor, immaculate, without a trace of paint. And yet canvases everywhere: propped against the walls, stacked in the hallway, rolled into corners. Works waiting. Others that have already arrived somewhere and will not be disturbed again.

It is in this ordinary space, working on the floor, in music, that she has painted for years. She moves around the canvas, steps back, returns. The gesture is broad, slow, deliberate. It engages the whole body before it ever touches the surface.

Anih works primarily in oil on canvas, sometimes in watercolour. Two distinct practices, two different relationships to time and to material, but the same gesture at their origin: that of someone who searches and allows things to come. Formats vary, from the most intimate to the largest, but every series is born in this same space, from this same inhabited silence.

Works are available in small and large formats, and can be seen in their entirety during a visit.
